Sorry for the delay folks, but we have been extremely busy at The Star since last summer, with all the fantastic events and Christmas, we just haven’t had a moments rest.
But here we are back again for another year and we aim to make it even bigger and better than last.

In March we have some fantastic changes and additions to The Star, such as our very much new and improved menu, created by both myself, Ed and our (not so new) Chef Mike we have created a delicious medley of dishes that will suit all. Whilst retaining your favourite dishes we have made additions which we feel will make you want to keep coming back for more. With new Starters, Mains and Handmade deserts you might as well make a meal out of it!

Once again this year due to popular demand we continue with Quiz Night, held every Monday we welcome all. We thank all our regular teams who participate without fail and truly make a Monday night a great night at The Star. So why not come along and join in, every team is welcome. For more information please speak with a member of the bar staff.

Now on to the Sports, Our Darts team has progressed to playing not only Tuesdays but in another league on Thursdays as well. With Cup matches coming out their ears they really have started to excel. However they are always looking for future team mates so if you think you are a dab hand at a game of arrows why not pop into The Star for a chat with the bar team on how to join up.

Here at The Star we strive to keep all our beers, bottles and ales up to date with the current times so The Star is now pleased to present our Cask Marque Approved Ales all from Local breweries, we love them so much we now have a different guest ale every week. We would love you to come and try the delicious variety of Ales that are good enough to make the grade.

Food Festivals are set to make a return to The Star this year, we are currently working on a monthly list of interesting countries and cuisines which we hope will have you all coming along to. We would like to thank all of you who came along to last year’s festivals and we hope to see you all again later this year. Keep an eye out on here and in the pub for the full list of cuisines available.

Well July is upon us and so is the glorious sunshine, Firstly we would like to thank everybody who attended our events throughout June and we hope to see you again this month for the more fantastic events.
This month sees the return of our very popular Quiz, we had a great turn out last month and we can’t wait to see all those brilliant teams return for the second round. So gather all your friends and head down to the Star on Monday 6th July, kicking off at 8pm we think it’s the perfect way to spend a summer’s eve with friends.
For our customers who enjoy a touch of the paranormal we are holding a Psychic Night on Thursday 9th July. With personal readings from some local psychic’s you are guaranteed a night of excitement and maybe some spectacular encounters. Starting at 7.30pm the readings cost £20 but we feel it is money well spent for a personal encounter. Please speak with a member of staff regarding booking a reading but we recommend you call quickly as spaces are filling up fast.
Our food festival this month is Australian Night. So on Thursday 30th July come to the Star for a fantastic night of authentic Australian dishes. With Roo Burgers, Shrimps on the Barbie and Traditional Lamingtons you are guaranteed a night of delicious cuisine! Look out for posters in and around the pub for the full menu and don’t forget to book your table with a member of staff to avoid disappointment.
Our annual Family Fun Days start this month. So on Sunday 26th July come along and bring the kids for a great day at The Star with a BBQ and Bouncy Castle, so fingers crossed that the weather continues to be good for a fun filled family day out!
Looking ahead into August we are planning a number of fantastic events with Karaoke on Saturday 8th August and our August Bank Holiday Extravaganza and Cider Festival running from Friday 28th August to our Family Fun Sunday on the 30th. So keep a look out for further details both here on our news site and posters in and around the pub.

June is here and we have a fantastic month ahead of us. Last night was our Quiz Night which was a huge success so thank you too all the teams that took part, we hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

Friday 19th June sees Abba and the 70’s come to Ashton Under Hill. So if you enjoy a good boogie gather all your friends and family and head to the Star for a fabulous night of music from 8pm.

This month sees the arrival of our Summer Daytime Dining Menu, bringing you all your favourite dishes with a few new ones cooked up for good measure.
Why not try our New Bacon, Mushroom and Cheese Tart, Freshly made and baked in house served with a crisp chef’s salad or try our Improved Chicken and Bacon Salad.

Look out for our revamped Kids Menu, with all the all time favourites but with a few healthy alternatives thrown in to ensure your children eat as well as you do when at the Star.

So come along and see us… bring the whole family, and with the fabulous weather we have been having, relax in our spacious garden. Outdoor dining available. Pets welcome.

We have some fun filled, event packed months coming up at The Star Inn, we kick start all of our summer activities with our new Quiz Night, this will take place on Monday 1^st June at 8pm, so why not get together a group of mates and come on down for a night of fun and knowledge.

On Wednesday 10^th June we shall be offering our diners a fantastic night with a mix and match menu to ensure there is something for everyone. So if you’re tempted by the thought of good juicy steak look out for the posters in the pub to get your taste buds tantalised and speak to a member of staff regarding booking a table to ensure you are not disappointed.

August Bank Holiday Extravaganza

This bank holiday weekend we are bringing you our renowned Cider Festival running from Friday 28^th August to our Family Fun Sunday on the 30^th. We have cider in the gallons and fun in the bucket loads this weekend so some along for a fantastic weekend of Cider and bring along the whole family on Sunday for another brilliant BBQ and with a bouncy castle for the kids your really have no excuse not to pop down!

Hello, Thanks for visiting our new website. Firstly I would like to thank all the people that have helped us put this together from Eddie at Softdata for the design and on going help, to Roger for the fantasic snow photo and all of the team that have had input and photo’s.

During Feb we are due to hold our Jamaican food festival on the 26th. We really hope to see you there for a delicious three course meal with lots of dishes to warm you up during a cold February.

Walkers and bikers are very welcome all day everyday and we are serving food 7 days a week this week from 12 -3, then 5-9 and 12 -4 on Sunday’s. Dogs are allowed in the main bar. Did you know you can phone through or pre-order your meals and snacks before you set off up the hill?

We are celebrating our first year at The Star in a couple of weeks and would like to thank all the village for their continued support of their local and all our customers that travel just to come to the pub.
